{"id":12048,"date":"2022-11-07T14:25:01","date_gmt":"2022-11-07T14:25:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=12048"},"modified":"2022-11-07T14:26:15","modified_gmt":"2022-11-07T14:26:15","slug":"cop27-a-laugh-from-the-past","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/?p=12048","title":{"rendered":"COP27 &#8211; a laugh from the past"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The world&#8217;s top greenwashing event <a href=\"https:\/\/cop27.eg\/\">COP27<\/a> is currently taking place in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sharm_El_Sheikh\">Sharm El-Sheikh<\/a> in Egypt.<\/p>\r\n<p>To give an idea of the under-achievement of previous UN conferences on climate change, it&#8217;s worth pointing out that activist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/environment\/greta-thunberg-cop27-an-opportunity-greenwashing-lying-cheating-2022-10-30\/\">Greta Thunberg is boycotting the event<\/a>, stating that it will be an opportunity for &#8220;<em>greenwashing, lying and cheating<\/em>&#8220;.
