Even though the office package has not changed much visually from earlier releases, it includes several underlying improvements such as changes to the <acronym title=\"application programming interface\">API<\/acronym>, support for the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Content_Management_Interoperability_Services\">Content Management Interoperability Services<\/a> (CMIS) standard and better import\/export of Microsoft Office file formats.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1060\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1060\" style=\"width: 440px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2013\/01\/libre_mimeiconsbanner.png\" alt=\"image of LibreOffice Mime type icons\" width=\"440\" height=\"64\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1060\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2013\/01\/libre_mimeiconsbanner.png 440w, https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2013\/01\/libre_mimeiconsbanner-300x43.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1060\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">LibreOffice for all your office suite needs: word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, database, drawing and formulas<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The new release also includes some changes to the user interface, as well as a new feature &#8211; support for Firefox Personas themes (<em><a href=\"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=1073\" title=\"Using Firefox Personas in LibreOffice 4.0\">posts passim<\/a><\/em>). An Android application allowing users to control an Impress presentation from a mobile phone is ready to be used with some Linux versions of LibreOffice (<em><a href=\"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=1197\" title=\"Control Impress presentations from an Android phone\">posts passim<\/a><\/em>) and is expected to be released soon. LibreOffice developers are also working on bringing the feature to outstanding Linux versions of the suite, as well as its Windows and Mac OS X ports.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.libreoffice.org\/download\/\">LibreOffice 4.0 is available for download<\/a> Linux, Mac and Windows.
