Originally managed by managed by Capital &amp; Regional and Aviva Investors, the complex is now in the hands of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/LaSalle_Investment_Management\">LaSalle Investment Management<\/a>, whose registered office is in Chicago, IL in the United States.<\/p>\r\n<p>However, this has not stopped them from trying to appear a local company: note the phrase &#8220;<em>Proud of our city<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\r\n<p>However, despite <em>their<\/em> pride in <em>our<\/em> city, LaSalle still manages to fail miserably as shown in the photograph below.<\/p>\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2023\/01\/bristol_suspension.jpg\" alt=\"Shopping centre mural showing caption Bristol Suspension Bridge\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12284\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2023\/01\/bristol_suspension.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2023\/01\/bristol_suspension-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>\r\n<p>Last time I looked there was no Bristol Suspension Bridge. There are, however, a few suspension bridges around the city, but none of them is named after the city of their siting.<\/p>\r\n<p>Somehow a photograph of the world-famous <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Clifton_Suspension_Bridge\">Clifton Suspension Bridge<\/a> designed by Brunel but not opened until after his death has been used in error.<\/p>\r\n<p>Ask any Bristolian its whereabouts and the answer is likely to be:&#8221;Bristle Suspension Bridge: where&#8217;s that to?&#8221;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Galleries shopping centre in Broadmead in Bristol opened in October 1991.
