{"id":1399,"date":"2013-03-11T16:51:54","date_gmt":"2013-03-11T16:51:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=1399"},"modified":"2013-07-06T08:38:02","modified_gmt":"2013-07-06T08:38:02","slug":"hopelessly-incompetent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/?p=1399","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Hopelessly incompetent&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the end of last week, Judge Richard Bray branded Capita \u201chopelessly incompetent\u201d after he was unable to sentence and expedite deportation proceedings against a Vietnamese drug king because no interpreter arrived at Northampton Crown Court, according to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/uk\/383219\/Judge-s-fury-as-justice-is-lost-in-translation\">report in yesterday&#8217;s Sunday Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The same report also revealed that Capita Translation and Interpreting, which is making a shambles of providing interpreters for courts and tribunals (<em><a href=\"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=1356\" title=\"Criminal Bar Association Chair condemns court interpreting shambles\">posts passim<\/a><\/em>), is using its Capita Polski call centre in Wroclaw, where its 500 Polish staff are meant to match requests for linguists on Capita\u2019s register who are then called or e-mailed with offers of work.
