In a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Elysee\/status\/379625925559599104\">tweet on 16th September<\/a>, it announced it was opening up its data in a new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elysee.fr\/open-data\/\">open data section of its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2013\/09\/opendata_elysee.jpg\" alt=\"picture accompanying tweet announcing Elys\u00e9e open data site\" width=\"480\" height=\"480\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2750\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2013\/09\/opendata_elysee.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2013\/09\/opendata_elysee-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2013\/09\/opendata_elysee-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At present this open data section consists essentially of the diary of President <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fran%C3%A7ois_Hollande\">Fran\u00e7ois Hollande<\/a> which has been appearing since last December at the top of the site&#8217;s home page in the form of a timeline. The data in this timeline are offered in two formats: <acronym title=\"Extensible Mark-up Language\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/XML\">XML<\/a><\/acronym> and <acronym title=\"JavaScript Object Notation\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/JSON\">JSON<\/a><\/acronym>.<\/p>\n<p>The Elys\u00e9e is also releasing the origin of visits made to its website during the previous week in JSON format. Some 41% of its visitors originate from Google, 30% reach the site directly, 8% are referred by Twitter and 4% by the Elys\u00e9e&#8217;s Facebook page. There are also daily statistics for the site&#8217;s servers (energy consumption, load) and visits displayed in graphical form: number of visitors, number of pages viewed per hour and the source of visits.<\/p>\n<p>Since the announcement of the the French government&#8217;s open data portal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.data.gouv.fr\/\">data.gouv.fr<\/a> in February 2011, several public sector organisations, publicly-owned companies (e.g. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/SNCF\">SNCF<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/RATP_Group\">RATP<\/a>) and local and regional authorities have opened up some of their data.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Le Monde Informatique reports that the website of the Elys\u00e9e Palace, the official residence of the French president is taking a step towards open data.
