{"id":4432,"date":"2014-07-03T11:15:46","date_gmt":"2014-07-03T11:15:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=4432"},"modified":"2014-07-03T11:48:21","modified_gmt":"2014-07-03T11:48:21","slug":"libreumbriascuola-nominated-for-egov2014-prize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/?p=4432","title":{"rendered":"LibreUmbria@Scuola nominated for Egov 2014 prize"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>News arrived via my inbox this morning that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.libreumbria.it\/\">LibreUmbria<\/a>&#8216;s programme in schools (LibreUmbria@Scuola), which took place in recent months in collaboration with Perugia&#8217;s third teaching district (<em><a href=\"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=3751\" title=\"LibreUmbria taking free software into schools\">posts passim<\/a><\/em>), has been nominated for this year&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pionero.it\/2014\/06\/05\/premio-egov-2014\/\">Egov Prize<\/a>. LibreUmbria is the project that is promoting the use of free and open source software amongst public sector organisations in Italy&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Umbria\">Umbria<\/a> region.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2014\/07\/premio-egov-2014.jpg\" alt=\"Egov Prize logo\" width=\"580\" height=\"255\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4433\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2014\/07\/premio-egov-2014.jpg 580w, https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2014\/07\/premio-egov-2014-300x131.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The basic idea behind the Egov Prize has always been the fusion and sharing of good practice which other public sector organisations can use as an example and from which they can benefit. This will be the 10th year the prize will have been awarded.<\/p>\n<p>LibreUmbria@Scuola aims to raise awareness and promote the use of free software in schools, from the primary level upwards by training parents and teachers who will in turn train others by acting as mentors.<\/p>\n<p>The LibreUmbria@Scuola project has been implemented in arranging free seminars at schools for parents and teachers, on digital culture topics (the relationship between boys and technology, shared knowledge and free software, security, use of social media, cyberbullying).
