{"id":5047,"date":"2014-11-01T11:31:51","date_gmt":"2014-11-01T11:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=5047"},"modified":"2014-11-01T11:33:05","modified_gmt":"2014-11-01T11:33:05","slug":"exclusive-bristol-mayor-loses-trousers-in-easton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/?p=5047","title":{"rendered":"Exclusive: Bristol Mayor loses trousers in Easton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, returning from <a href=\"http:\/\/3ca.org.uk\">Trinity Community Arts<\/a>, I came across an unusual sight in Bannerman Road, Easton.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2014\/11\/gf_trousers.jpg\" alt=\"a pair of red trousers abandoned on the footway\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5048\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2014\/11\/gf_trousers.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2014\/11\/gf_trousers-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Who could have left them there? <\/p>\n<p>Someone who&#8217;s not heard of the local <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/?s=tidybs5\">TidyBS5 campaign<\/a>, to be sure.<\/p>\n<p>The obvious candidate is Bristol&#8217;s elected Mayor, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bristol.gov.uk\/page\/george-ferguson-mayor-bristol\">George Ferguson<\/a>, a man <a href=\"http:\/\/lookatmyfuckingredtrousers.blogspot.com\/2011\/06\/architect-george-ferguson-cbe.html\">not unknown for his penchant for red leg coverings<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=765\" title=\"Bristol politics \u2013 subtle comment\"><em>posts passim<\/em><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>What could George have been doing in Easton to have fled minus his trousers? Answers in the comments below.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, as a politician George sometimes risks more than the loss of his trousers; he&#8217;s wagering the shirt off his back on 2 potentially huge white elephant projects in Bristol both being funded by municipal borrowing &#8211; the <a href=\"http:\/\/stockwoodpete.blogspot.co.uk\/2014\/01\/austerity-lets-buy-arena.html\">Bristol Arena<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/thebristolian.net\/2014\/10\/31\/leaked-document-what-they-dont-want-you-to-know-about-brt\/\">Metrobus\/BRT, whose costs keep escalating out of control<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, returning from Trinity Community Arts, I came across an unusual sight in Bannerman Road, Easton.
