Its author was Lauri Wylie.<\/p>\n<p>In 1963 German television station <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndr.de\/\">Norddeutscher Rundfunk<\/a> (NDR) recorded a performance of the piece in the original English with a short introduction in German.<\/p>\n<p>The sketch presents the 90th birthday of elderly upper-class Englishwoman Miss Sophie, who hosts a celebration dinner every year for her friends Mr Pommeroy, Mr Winterbottom, Sir Toby and Admiral von Schneider.
