{"id":5697,"date":"2015-03-14T11:48:25","date_gmt":"2015-03-14T11:48:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=5697"},"modified":"2015-03-14T12:01:51","modified_gmt":"2015-03-14T12:01:51","slug":"recommended-libreoffice-extension-multiformatsave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/?p=5697","title":{"rendered":"Recommended LibreOffice extension: MultiFormatSave"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the great things about LibreOffice is the ability to customise and extend the software&#8217;s functionality by the use of extensions, for which there&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/extensions.libreoffice.org\/\">dedicated website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you use LibreOffice and need to save files in formats other than its native Open Document Formats (in my case, I work in Open Document format, but return work in MS Office formats and send out invoices as PDFs), then the MultiFormatSave extension is a really useful addition to your install since it can simultaneously save your file Open Document, MS Office and\/or PDF formats as you choose.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment Open Document, MS Office 97 (.doc, .xls, etc.), MS Office 2007 XML (.docx, .xlsx, etc.) and PDF formats are supported.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2015\/03\/multiformatsave.png\" alt=\"MultiFormatSave icon\" width=\"34\" height=\"34\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5698\" \/>Once installed via LibreOffice&#8217;s extension manager, MultiFormatSave adds a small icon &#8211; shown on the right &#8211; to the toolbars of your office suite&#8217;s component programs.<\/p>\n<p>Clicking on the icon will bring up the dialogue box shown below.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2015\/03\/multiformatsave_dialogue.png\" alt=\"MultiFormatSave dialogue box\" width=\"392\" height=\"353\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5699\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2015\/03\/multiformatsave_dialogue.png 392w, https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2015\/03\/multiformatsave_dialogue-300x270.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 392px) 100vw, 392px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Saving in up to 3 formats at once is not only convenient, it can in my opinion help reduce one&#8217;s chances of falling victim to repetitive strain injury (RSI). \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/extensions.libreoffice.org\/extension-center\/multisave-1\">More information on MultiFormatSave<\/a> is available on the LibreOffice extensions site.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the great things about LibreOffice is the ability to customise and extend the software&#8217;s functionality by the use of extensions, for which there&#8217;s a dedicated website.
