{"id":6002,"date":"2015-04-29T09:59:38","date_gmt":"2015-04-29T09:59:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=6002"},"modified":"2015-04-29T10:13:28","modified_gmt":"2015-04-29T10:13:28","slug":"a-chance-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/?p=6002","title":{"rendered":"A chance meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Walking down Stapleton Road this morning, I stopped to take the picture below in readiness for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bristol.gov.uk\/forms\/fly-tipping\">reporting the fly-tipping to Bristol City Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2015\/04\/stapleton_rd_96.jpeg\" alt=\"fly-tipping outside 96 Stapleton Road\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6003\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2015\/04\/stapleton_rd_96.jpeg 600w, https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2015\/04\/stapleton_rd_96-300x225.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The gentleman passing on the right of the picture and half caught by the camera saw what I was doing, thanked me effusively and shook my hand when I told him I was reporting it to the council.<\/p>\n<p>We then had a brief conversation about how such anti-social behaviour detracted from the pleasantness of Bristol, which he described as a &#8220;beautiful city&#8221;, the health implications of fly-tipping and the way they encouraged the spread of vermin such as rats (<a href=\"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=5606\"><em>posts passim<\/em><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>As we parted with waves, he asked me whether I was a member of the Green Party.
