{"id":6261,"date":"2015-07-06T09:43:11","date_gmt":"2015-07-06T09:43:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=6261"},"modified":"2015-07-06T09:43:11","modified_gmt":"2015-07-06T09:43:11","slug":"new-amenity-in-lawrence-hill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/?p=6261","title":{"rendered":"New amenity in Lawrence Hill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the weekend a new amenity &#8211; either an art installation or a new public convenience &#8211; has appeared on the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/A420_road\">A420<\/a> Lawrence Hill in east Bristol.<\/p>\n<p>If the latter, it&#8217;s conveniently located next to the site of Lawrence Hill&#8217;s original Victorian public lavatories, sadly demolished some years ago by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bristol.gov.uk\/\">Bristol City Council<\/a> and the site sold off to developers.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6260\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6260\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2015\/07\/lawrence_hill_loo-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"fly-tipped toilet pan in Lawrence Hill in Bristol\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" class=\"size-large wp-image-6260\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2015\/07\/lawrence_hill_loo.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2015\/07\/lawrence_hill_loo-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6260\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Public convenience or crap art installation?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Continuing with the theme of convenience, if it is a new public lavatory &#8211; whether provided at public expense or by the private sector &#8211; it will no doubt come as a relief to the thousands of commuters from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kingswood,_South_Gloucestershire\">Kingswood<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hanham\">Hanham<\/a> and other parts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.southglos.gov.uk\/\">South Gloucestershire<\/a> who clog up the A420 inbound on weekday mornings and outbound on weekday evenings respectively.<\/p>\n<p>However, I suspect it is the work of east Bristol&#8217;s shadowy network of fly-tippers, in which case it needs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bristol.gov.uk\/forms\/fly-tipping\">reporting to Bristol City Council<\/a>. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the weekend a new amenity &#8211; either an art installation or a new public convenience &#8211; has appeared on the A420 Lawrence Hill in east Bristol.
