{"id":6584,"date":"2015-11-04T17:51:15","date_gmt":"2015-11-04T17:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=6584"},"modified":"2015-11-04T17:51:15","modified_gmt":"2015-11-04T17:51:15","slug":"courts-still-having-trouble-obtaining-interpreters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/?p=6584","title":{"rendered":"Courts still having trouble obtaining interpreters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the last year of so, the prominence of the courts interpreting contract fiasco has diminished, even though the actual problem itself has never gone away.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, Wednesday&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ilfordrecorder.co.uk\/news\/crime-court\/new_court_date_set_for_man_charged_in_connection_to_ilford_stabbing_1_4296896\">Ilford Recorder reports<\/a> that a new court date has had to be set for a man charged in connection with a stabbing in Ilford &#8220;because there were no interpreters available to translate for the defendant&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Marcel Criahan, of Hickling Road, Ilford, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court via a video link yesterday after being arrested on 17th October in connection with an incident in which police found 49 year-old Florin Onea with a stab wound. After Onea died last Monday, police launched a murder investigation.<\/p>\n<p>34-year-old Criahan was charged with <abbr title=\"Grievous Bodily Harm\">GBH<\/abbr> with intent on 18th October and appeared at Barkingside Magistrates Court the following day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the last year of so, the prominence of the courts interpreting contract fiasco has diminished, even though the actual problem itself has never gone away.
