{"id":7217,"date":"2016-06-06T11:53:36","date_gmt":"2016-06-06T11:53:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=7217"},"modified":"2016-06-06T12:29:28","modified_gmt":"2016-06-06T12:29:28","slug":"latest-version-of-snoopers-charter-before-parliament-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/?p=7217","title":{"rendered":"Latest version of Snoopers\u2019 Charter before Parliament this week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week the House of Commons is due to debate the <a href=\"http:\/\/services.parliament.uk\/bills\/2015-16\/investigatorypowers.html\">Investigatory Powers Bill<\/a>, the latest version of the Snoopers&#8217; Charter (<a href=\"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=6178\"><em>news passim<\/em><\/a>), that will allow the United Kingdom&#8217;s police and services to regard the entire UK population as potential organised criminals, suspected terrorists and other assorted ne&#8217;er-do-wells and enable those same services to monitor the UK residents&#8217; internet traffic and telecommunications.<\/p>\n<p>In advance of the parliamentary debate and to publicise the illiberal nature of Home Secretary Theresa May&#8217;s bill, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.openrightsgroup.org\/\">Open Rights Group<\/a> installed a public toilet on a busy Friday afternoon in Brick Lane in east London.
