{"id":7256,"date":"2016-07-04T08:52:06","date_gmt":"2016-07-04T08:52:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=7256"},"modified":"2016-07-04T08:52:06","modified_gmt":"2016-07-04T08:52:06","slug":"spelling-is-important","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/?p=7256","title":{"rendered":"Spelling IS important"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As someone who&#8217;s worked with language for the best part of four decades, your correspondent recognises the importance of correct spelling.<\/p>\n<p>One area where this matters more is people&#8217;s names, something which the fourth estate doesn&#8217;t always manage correctly; for instance, a couple of years ago in a piece in the Bristol Post in which I was quoted my surname mysteriously changed from Woods to Wood halfway through.<\/p>\n<p>However, it&#8217;s not just journalists who get proper names wrong.
