{"id":792,"date":"2012-12-10T13:44:15","date_gmt":"2012-12-10T13:44:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=792"},"modified":"2012-12-10T17:51:47","modified_gmt":"2012-12-10T17:51:47","slug":"snoopers-charter-rumours-that-parliament-is-unimpressed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/?p=792","title":{"rendered":"Snooper&#8217;s Charter &#8211; rumours that Parliament is unimpressed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>IT news website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theregister.co.uk\/2012\/12\/10\/communications_data_bill\/\">The Register reports<\/a> today that the joint parliamentary committee of members of the Commons and Lords scrutinising the government\u2019s draft Communications Data Bill &#8211; also known as the Snooper&#8217;s Charter (<a href=\"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/?p=736\" title=\"Snooper\u2019s Charter \u2013 my letter to my MP\"><em>posts passim<\/em><\/a>) &#8211; will publish its report tomorrow (Tuesday, 11th December).<\/p>\n<p>It is believed that most of the committee&#8217;s members felt the Home Office had failed to make a convincing case for the scale of requested draconian powers required to monitor British citizens&#8217; activities online.
