Image courtesy of Wikimedia Commons.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>However, the fear of violent behaviour was not the only concern for banning hot food: councillors on the city council\u2019s public safety and protection committee also feared children from the next-door school would be tempted to skip lessons due to the lure of grilled fermented curd.<\/p>\n<p>Following the committee&#8217;s decision the concession will now be put out to tender.<\/p>\n<p>However, the story does not end there. When your correspondent posted about the article on Twitter, one person to respond was local artist <a href=\"http:\/\/dru-withoutamap.blogspot.com\/\">Dru Marland<\/a>, whose response about fermented curd addiction was hilarious.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/xislblogs.xtreamlab.net\/slwoods\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2019\/01\/dru_cheese.png\" alt=\"XDru&#039;s tweet reads they start &#039;em on Dairylea slices, and before you know it they&#039;re mugging pensioners for their next fix of Stinking Bishop\" width=\"596\" height=\"239\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8681\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2019\/01\/dru_cheese.png 596w, https:\/\/www.slwoods.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/23\/2019\/01\/dru_cheese-300x120.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 596px) 100vw, 596px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For a more complete understanding of the violence-inducing properties of cheese, I should have asked the committee about their opinions of more exotic varieties of fermented curd, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Roquefort\">Roquefort<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Graviera\">Graviera<\/a>, but pressure of time dictated otherwise. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Update:<\/em><\/strong> Not forty-eight hours after Bristol was opened to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/news\/uk-news\/cheese-toasties-banned-park-amid-13831835\">national<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rideapart.com\/articles\/300390\/fear-biker-gangs-ban-cheese-toasties\/\">international<\/a> ridicule over this affair, Bristol Live <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/hot-food-van-granted-park-2410496\">reports<\/a> that residents of Bristol&#8217;s Cotham district have branded a hot food catering van an &#8220;<em>appalling idea<\/em>&#8220;.
